How does everyone organize the gambling on a buddies trip? Do you establish a pot before hand? How is the pot divided, daily, or at the end of the trip? What games, skins, low net individual or teams?

We always play $3 nassau with $1 for dots(greenie on par 3, birdie, sandie). We play match play, teams with lowest individual score taking it. $3 match for the front, back and 18. You could raise the stakes to $10 nassau. That would put some preasure on the line.

We play individual grop games so it's up to the foursome to decide each day. The only rule is you have to hole out everything because there are $20/day skins to be had also, up for grabs to the whole group. Last day is a stroke-play, winner take all for $50/man. Good fun.

Up until a couple years ago, I used to go to Myrtle each fall with a group of 24 guys. Each day everyone would put up $100. The group leader would assign A,B,C and D players, and make up different foursomes each day. We'd play best ball front and back, best ball for 18 holes, and each group would have a colored ball. Each member of each foursome would alternate the colored ball for each hole. The team with the lowest score with the colored ball won. Oftentimes, each group would lose the ball, so the team that got the farthest with the ball won. Then we'd each throw in $20 for skins. Best ball for 18 was worth $1,000, best front and back nines was worth $500 each, and colored ball worth $400. If your group had a good day and won the 18 hole and front or back nine and grabbed a few skins, you could net $350/$400. Usually by the end of the 8-day trip, it pretty well averaged out. A few guys may have been up $500-$600 for the week, and a few guys may have been down $500, but mostly it was within a couple hundred either way.

Good point Dandy. With multiple groups, you should always hole out. Even a ball hanging on the lip has to be holed.
