2009 has been a great golf year for me personally. I have shot my lowest rounds of 74 twice. I have been more consistant in a few areas, but there's more work to do. How has your game progressed or degressed since last spring? What are your goals for next year?

My game really improved. My goal for 2010 is to break 90, get a top 10 in a tournament, and hit more GIR.

I am in my second year of golf (Started 4-07) This year I...

Ended my lessons
Fixed a very long time slice (just 4 weeks ago)
Learned how to hit my 3 wood from the fairway 200 + yards (This has saved my ass when I duff a drive) I am also close to hitting a par 5 green in two with this club.
Dropped my scores from mid to high 90's to low 90's high to mid 80's
Moved back a set of tees to over 6000 yards
Bettered my short game to give me a chance for 1 putts
My only degression was the slice that I fixed.

For 2010 I want to make more GIR's, right now I have none or two or three a round.

I want to have more consistent distance with the driver. I average 235 but have had 250 to 270 yard drives and 180 ones too.

I want to eliminate the 90's and shoot in the 80's, occasioanlly hit a high to mid 70.

reflection
positives: more fit which has transcended into better scores overall, hitting the ball a bit further as well
negatives: putting is terrible(however I have found a new style late in the year which seems to have helped)
Work in Progress: Need to hit more greens and fairways
Most impotant thing I need to do for next year is make sure my bad shots are not terrible!
In golf you are only as good as your bad shoots!

Ball Striking has improved. Scoring got worse. For 2010, get some extra yardage out of my drives. Stick to my pre-shot routine.

not a bad start, i just started playing this year. ball striking is better especially in the last couple trips to the range, not scooping as much, staying forward more and leading with my hands more. putting has been pretty good and finally getting better with my lob shots. also more comfortable with my 3 wood and driver. rookie year and realized this game takes alot of work. looking forward to 2010 its gonna be a great year. good luck everyone

Need to improve GIR, overall in 2010 breaking 80 and getting closer to par is my goal, but, if I do not more greens not even Phil's or Tiger's short game will help me. Slowly but surely, lowering my putting stat will help. Better from 150 yds and in.

Seems I drop about 4 to 5 stokes a year off my handicap.

2007 20 HCP
2008 15 HCP
2009 10 HCP

2010 I want to get down to a five or better. Considering I currently putt only average (34 putts per round) if I can address this I'll be there if I just improve my putting. Short game and GIRs will be the focus in 2010.

I have a long way to go, but I've felt tangible improvements in just about every aspect of my game this year. I'm very happy with that and with the current rate of progress I'm experiencing weekly at this time. I feel fairly confident that I'll be able to break 80 at some point in the coming year, and not just as a big fluke but as the culmination of ever lowering scores. We'll see. But I feel good about it.

I started at an 8.4 HCP for '09, got up to a 10.4 and finished at 9.8. Overall I've gotten worse except for my short game which is probably the only thing keeping me at a reasonable level. I've developed a serious left to right flight with anything more than an 8 iron. These are the same clubs that I've been using for 4 years now. I've noticed that my divots point about 30 degrees left of where I had aimed. I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong and I've worked on it almost the entire season.

The most frustrating part of my game has to be the 10-15 stroke difference from round to round. I can go out one day and shoot 80 then the next day shoot 94 and this is NOT due to penalty strokes. I check out a lot of everybody elses scores here and rarely do I see the same problem for you guys. Any advice??
