I'm a chairman of a club and i would like to know what happens to a club that as over ten members but their is not ten paying members? Is the club still in applance with usga and do the paying members keep their handicaps?

Good question ... as I am also the chairman of my club. Logically, I would believe that as long as you have a minimum of ten members ... whether the are FREE members or PREMIUM members ... and they all have complied with the memberships requirements in a USGA club, then you are still compliant. The FREE members would not get the benefits of a USGA Handicap Index but the paying members would get that benefit. However, I will defer to an administrator for the finally and official answer.

That is an excellent question.
In my opinion, there must be a software to distinguish the different typs of members. I don't think it's easily done. we may have to separate the members paying for the USGA handicap index and those whom chose not to. What a nightmare it would be for a larger club to manage this issue. |

That is an excellent question. In my opinion, there must be a software to distinguish the different typs of members. I don't think it's easily done. we may have to separate the members paying for the USGA handicap index and those whom chose not to. What a nightmare it would be for a larger club to manage this issue. They are already separated ... with the dots ... the software is there. FREE members will only show "average strokes over par" ... no handicap. Simple enough. Also, you won't be able to print a Handicap Index card as well. |
