I just wanted to share with you a site I just discovered! I'm always looking for slope and rating info, especially when I'm thinking about playing a new course. The USGA has a database of all the courses with their slope and rating. They also display what they call the "bogey rating" which is the score that a bogey golfer can expect to shoot. Really cool!

I found a more detailled explanation about the bogey golfer rating somewhere else: "The rating team uses this player as its criteria to set the bogey rating at 96.3, which means the bogey golfer is predicted to average 96.3 on the better half of his scores on this set of tees."

So the bogey golfer would shoot 103.5 at Bethpage Black on a good day :P

Cool Site Sylla! My home course bogey golfer rating is 90.3. I'll have to use this for other courses also. Thanks!
