Hi all,

A beginner at golf here, so please be nice... :P

I'm trying to fill out my scorecard on the site with all the info I can. I think I have most of it down, but what exactly is a "Fairway in Regulation?" Is it hitting the fairway off the tee shot? Do you have to hit the fairway on every shot until you get to the green (e.g., on a par 5)? If I hit 100 yard shots in the fairway all the way down a 500 yard hole, is that FIR?

TIA for your help!

FIR is for calculating accuracy of your tee shot.

Dewsweeper is correct, your ball off the tee on all holes other then 3 pars must stay in the fairway to be considered hit.

For those of you wanting to see a high FIR score but are still working on your game, feel free to use the alternative definitions for FIR

First shot In Rough
F_ck, I hit the Ranger
Free Ice cold Rainier beer please.

LOL! I'll take it! 100% FIR! (Just not admitting which of the above...)
