Distance with irons not progressive

I just got new clubs that are longer by an inch, i have always previously play standard length clubs. I am 6 '3" this seems to help a little and what the golf galaxy guys recommened based on a chart. It seems i don't get the distance out of my irons like I should (not because of new length clubs it was same with my other set too). They don't progressivly get more like they should. They seem to be a good 15 yards shorter progressivly then they should. Any help?

Do you mean for example you hit 7 iron 150 8 iron 135 etc or that the new clubs are shorter than your old clubs? There could be a couple of things going on here. One possibility is that the shaft flex does not match your swing. Another could be that the lofts on the clubs are not accurate for instance the lofts of the irons might be too close say only a 2 degree gap between two particular irons instead of 4 or 5 degrees. Some manufacturers are not as good about checking lofts and lies as others. I would recommend having the store you bought your clubs from check the lofts/lie and adjust as necessary.

I mean for example that my 7 iron goes 150 and my 6 and 8 iron will go virtually the same distance. It seems that way for most of my irons. My shaft is a S300 and my swing speed is around 100mph for my driver. I had the same problem with my older clubs as well. I don't know if it's ball contact or what.

I would bet your lofts are not different enough on each club. Have your lofts checked. Since you had the same results with your old clubs its pobably something in your swing, adding or subtracting loft at impact.

OEM rarely makes mistake like not properly check the Length, Lof and Lie before the set was put on retail.

Did you buy the set brand new from a reputable retailer or did you buy the set used ?

If you bought the set brand new from a reputable retailer, and you were making solid contact with the golf balls, then, I would imagine the flex is not suitable for your swing.

If your driver SS is about 100 MPH, you should not have trouble swinging the irons.

I would (1) check the equipment, (2) have someone look at your swing in general.

Swinging with just your upper body, can do this. I'm no pro so I would definately have one check it out.

I had the same problem when I first started to hit balls on the range. You prolly have a swing flaw that needs to be fixed fast before it is too ingrained.

I'm with the "swing flaw" camp. You could have something going on in your setup or swing that's causing you to slightly mis-hit your higher irons, even though you hit your short irons well. I think you may be missing the sweet spot with your 7 iron and above.

This is one of the problems with big cavity-back irons. I don't know if that's what you're playing, but this point still needs to be made:

Cavity back game-improvement irons are designed to resist twisting on impact so that the ball flies pretty much straight even on a mis-hit. They are also designed to "feel" the same all across the face...so that, say, a toe hit doesn't shock your hands. But just because the hit FELT the same doesn't mean the ball was hit as pure. If you miss the sweet spot, the ball's not going to go as far, period. Problem is, with a cavity back you may not know you missed the sweet spot until you see the ball come up way short.

I would have a qualified pair of eyes look at your swing. I would imagine the problem is the indian and not the arrow, unfortunately!

Also with the swing flaw camp. Lindsey had a good suggestion as did Goynes. For me it was casting the club (similar to Lindsey's comment). Had it solved last year, then crept back in the beginning of the year till I figured it out. I started this year hitting AW 130 yds and 7 iron 130 yds till I figured it out.

I've heard it's probably something you are doing in your swing and also your clubhead speed may not be high.
