I'm in the market for a new golf bag. What are somethings ya'll like or don't like about your bags?

I like to walk when it's possible. My priorities are light weight, built in stand, and dual shoulder straps. All the little pockets get used for something or other, the big pocket on many bags is often too small however. I would like to find an expandable that would fit my shoes rain gear, and maybe a few water bottles. I have seen bags with external holsters for carrying bottles, those look useful.

I need pockets for these things. I walk, like Otter said, so shoulder straps and good legs on the bag to stand it up are essential. Anyway, I need pockets for: 1) Golf balls 2) Tees, ball marks, divot repair tool 3) Scorecard and gloves 4) Snacks(s) and personal stuff like camera and phone 5) Pouch for water bottle 6) Big pocket for extra clothing items. If there's a bag big wit pockets big enough for all that, it's for me.

I like a light bag for when I walk. There also has to be a Valuables Pocket for my Wallet and GPS and a few large side pockets that I can keep an extra shirt, socks or shoes. The club slots also have to be big enough that the grips dont rub each other excessively while in the bag or while being pulled out.

A pad on the bag where it will contact your back is a plus. I've seen carry bags without these but have one WITH the pad and it's nice.

Well, if you are a cart guy, the requirements change a bit. My stand bag does not sit very well when I'm using a cart. It tries to get sideways and the legs get in the way of the cart strap. If I was looking for a cart only bag, I'd just go with the biggest monstrosity I could lug out of the store and figure it will fit what ever I need. Room for a mini-keg would be nice!

Hey who you callin lazy! I like my bag now, other than the fact that its falling apart. My only real big requirement is a 14 way full length dividers. I don't need alot of pockets. I like the magnetic ball pocket on mine so you don't have to zip and unzip everytime you need a ball. I'm deciding right now between a mizuno and cobra cart bags.

Gotta be light, since I walk...but the main thing is...

Friggin' FULL LENGTH DIVIDERS. I don't know why it's so hard for golf bag companies to just put full-length dividers in every section, even in stand bags. I'm so tired of my grips tangling together.

I have two bags, one of the club monsters and a smaller carry bag. The full length dividers are a must but the carry bag has a separate out side pocket and clip for the putter which I find very useful. Keeps the putter handy and away from the other clubs.

I'm a fan of the Bag Boy series. The dividers are full length, lots of pockets. Not for carrying though. Got the wife the version with the rotating thing on top.

Seems to for the wife, but actually, well, it's kinda lame in my opinion. I would not have bought it for her if I could have found the same version as mine (same look just doesnt have the rotating thing). I don't think she ever uses the rotating feature.

If you want a cart bag look at the Sun Mountain C-130. It is what I have and love it. It has been on Golf Digests top picks for the last three or four years. Plenty of pockets and all the bells and whistles. It has a cooler in it and plenty of pockets for clothes, shoes, balls, and tees. It has valuables pockets and can be put onto a push or pull cart if you walk. I have a buddy that bought the bag boy and has returned it twice in three seasons of golf, also a few guys I have talked to have cobra bags and Nike and Callaway stand bags that they like. One had a callaway stand bag with the back pad that he loved and it had a strap holder for attaching better to a cart.

Just bought myself the Callaway Hyperlite 4 stand bag not too long ago. I had the same Ping Karsten stand bag since I was in high school several moons ago. I think it was time to move on to something a little more new, and a lot lighter as well. It basically covers all the basis that everyone has mentioned here. Can sum it up as: "A place for everything and everything has its place".
