I always fix my ball marks / divots and all the ones around it that I can find while waiting for the other's in the group to do their thing.

I replace all my ball marks and divots. That's really the simplest way to it. If everyone did it then courses would be in much better conditions.

Shoot any player that fishes for balls, takes more than 20 minutes on a hole, makes a habit of 4 putting or takes HUNDREDS of pictures of the course. Getting rid of fools on the course greatly improves conditions.

Damn, the only people we would have left golfing would be the ones we watch on T.V. !

Well no....The pros take 30 minutes on par 3's so they'd need to be shot too.

But, but, but doesn't that create a mess?

Good ones so far.

Seems like people don't replace their divots on tee boxes more than any other place on the course. Often they have a mix nearby and I'll fill a bunch of them. If not, I'll look for fresh divots that can be replaced in some of them.

O and if I see a lot of ball marks on greens, I'll go into the Pro Shop at the end and suggest we need a reminder. Most have signs they periodically post in the shop or on the carts, plus an e-newsletter.

ok..... Fill in the divits.. i get it.. but is it ok to use cig butts? or broken tee's ...or snickers bar wrappers? i have lots of good clean fill for all the strip mining people seem to do on the course.

No more walking allowed
Only Golf Carts Require.
to pick up the pace of play.

This is quite possibly the worst idea in golf history. There are a couple things that come to mind right away. First, let's say you have a foursome of 13 year olds. The outcome of them driving golf carts 3 years from their license will probably turn out less than good. Second, TONS of those who play golf do it for the exercise and thus walk over ride. Third, anyone who says that those who use carts are faster players than those who walk need to visit their doctor. I have played with people in carts countless amount of times. There have been hundreds of times when I've reached the exact same spot on a hole quicker than they have because they have to drop their rider off to another spot on the hole, they have to take a less than desired way through cart paths versus those who walk, stuff like that.
