This has been the story for Tiger ever since his 1st round back at Augusta last year. He cannot put all 4 rounds together in contention, and therefore he cannot win. Plus he needs to get in tournament competition more. I think it was Dan Hicks who said on the broadcast today that Tiger was striping it on the range, but has looked like any other golfer on course. The only way to fix that is to play in more tournaments!!! The range at Isleworth won't do that!!!

I would like to see him come out today, not win it, but shoot a 62 or some low number. I think whatever he's doing on the range isn't transferring to the course. He's a head case right now~

ya .. i hope he puts up a low number today. Phil also.. but Tiger is a dif person. i dont think he will ever be the same when it comes to work ethic. when a person has kids his life changes.. the things that were driving him to work day and night are now shared with emotions and life changing things that make things that were once a life obsession into something that seems just not as important as it once was. losing a family member like his father wile his dad was still young and sharing as much time with his kids wie he has access to them if going to take more of his attention. When Tiger was dominating other tour pros were going threw lifes ballancing act.. Tiger was only responsible for being the best in the world.. Tiger was a Golfer and a son. Now tiger is a Golfer and a Dad and a father and an ex husband and a course designer and a charitable fund raisor . 3 hours on the range after a round and 3 hours in the gym a day back at home with age he will and is getting tired. He will learn to relax and he will learn to enjoy the game and the fact that he is blessed to do what he does for a living but it will take some time to accept the fact that he may have to accept a couple wins a year and a major once every 2 or 3 years. He has 20 years of competitive golf on the pga tour just from serviving on his tallent and commitment of learning and playing the last 20 years. im not worried about him .. he will be no question the greatest who ever played the game by the time he retires but the tiger of 2000 IS GONE! at that time of his life he had nothing other than golf to focus on... those who have lost mom or dad or witness the birth of there children and watch them grow understand that there are things in life bigger than winning golf tournaments if it costs you time with other things that do ans SHOULD comand a good deal of attention by any human being. good luck tiger. welcome to the world we live in. welcome to the reasons we accept less than living or dreams because we add and consider new dreams and the dreams of others.

The same went for Hogan, Palmer, Player, Trevino, Nicklaus, et al. Eventually they all were not the player they once were. I'm pretty sure that can be said about EVERYONE (ourselves included). Tiger will also never be the player he was nor as dominate as he was so I think if that is the expectation it is simply unrealistic. In my mind the ONLY question about Tiger now is will he catch Jack's major numbers or not. He is only 35 (I think) and with the way golfers nowadays can compete well into their 50's I would say, barring some Hoganesque accident, with 60 more majors to play in before he turns 50 the odds are with him to win a few more.

I too don't like the way the media focuses on him when he is not in contention but it's important to be mad at the media, not at Tiger for that (I'm not saying I saw any of that here but I do know people who don't like him simply because of the attention he is paid which isn't his fault). Regardless of what anyone thinks about him personally, you can't argue with his accomplishments in the game. In his prime he was one of the few players that made all the others feel like they were playing for 2nd place in any tournament he entered (I put Nelson, Hogan & Nicklaus in that club as well). The key is IN HIS PRIME! But I wouldn't write him off just yet. Every time they tried to write Jack off (hmm, that sounds funny) he would go out and win a couple more majors.
