I hit one as a rental club in Maui back in 2009 and loved it. One of the best drivers I've ever used. So probably a smart move.

I have used Titliest drivers since I was in high school. I have tried many other brands, but always go back. I'm back hitting my old 983 now. I can control it unlike any other club I have ever owned.

It's for real. You did better than OK. Enjoy life in the fairway.

I own a 909D2 9.5 with a Voodoo stiff factory shaft, and it took me almost an hour of going back and forth between that and the exact driver you now have at a demo day before I finally closed my eyes and picked one.

OK, I chose the D2 because I like to work the ball. The DComp hits it too straight.

How's that for a problem?

I wish I had both. The DComp feels so sweet it makes tears form in my eyes. I'd own a 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5 if I had the money.

You can work the DComp. It's designed to hit the ball straight, but it'll work the ball both ways. Once you practice with it some, you'll love it more and more.

i know dave.. my 17 year old son is eyeballing it.. he played an r7 reg flex the last few years.. i found an r7 TP with a sweet fujikura shaft in it on ebay for him this year.. he works some now and is also thinking about the R11 but if he doesnt pull the pin on that i may just give him this titleist as his sr year of high school golf would be a bit smoother im thinking if its as much of a fairway finder for him as it is for me.. we will see .. its still winter so all i have been able to do with it is hit the launch monitor and hit a dozen balls out of the backyard with it.. seems like the real deal to me and a great value at this time..

909 is a great club. Titleist has always made great golf equipment. I have Titleist everything except for my 3-wood and putter. I still hit the old 983K from a few years back. It will still DESTROY a golf ball. I've hit a few knocks over 330 with that thing (albeit with that strong Texas wind helping me out!).

I think you'll notice the open face on your new Titleist. Titleist drivers have traditionally been set "open," as they are designed for better players who can release the golf club. Basically it guards against the hook. I like that feeling of being able to release it without fear of going hard left.

I always fear giving out bad advice to a fellow Stracka members, but I'd stake my entire reputation as a golfer on the 909D-comp and 909D2. If you take the time to get the right loft and shaft matched for your swing, you can't beat either of those drivers.

AND the best news: They're coming down in price.

I keep saying if I see a 909D2 8.5 for $199.99 or less, I'm going to need a friend to take my wallet for me. I have a 909D2 9.5 with a stiff shaft but would LOVE to have an 8.5 with an extra stiff for scrambles and certain courses.

After reading these posts about this club I HAD to try it out. I searched around and settled on a 10.5 degree 909D Comp w/ Matrix Ozik 6 shaft (stiff). I got some impact tape and hit 40-50 balls with it and didn't have a SINGLE bad hit with it. All my hits were within a 1 1/4" zone right in the sweet spot. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. Swing speed was about 105-107, ball speed was 152-157 and I was consistently 265-280 yards on launch monitor with 12-14 degree launch angle, which is pretty much perfect. Every hit felt solid and on the screws.

So I ended up picking up a used (looks new) one for $140 today. Thanks Bradley for posting your experience and for everyone else's input on this forum. You made a believer out of me. Goodbye old driver, hello 909D Comp!!
