Went to the midnight launch of the new Taylormade drivers last night at my local Golf Galaxy. They were giving away a few $25 gift cards and a few sleeves of balls is the main reason I went. Although after trying the new RBZ I was very impressed, I gained 25-30 yards in the driver and 30-40 on the 3 wood. I've only hit a hand full of drives 300 in my life and I hit 3 in a row over 300. The 3 wood was what was really impressive I had a few with roll hit 270. I don't know about anyone else but for myself that is out there. I'm going to try some of the other new clubs when they come out but I think it may be time to trade in my 6 year old clubs with that extra distance. I suggest anyone to go try them out.

Did you get a chance to try the hybrid. I am looking at buying a hybrid and the rocketballz hybrid was one of the top rated in Golf Digest. Just wondering your thoughts.

Do you work for Taylormade? :)

Haha no I don't work for Taylormade, in fact I'm not a big fan of their products for many reasons but for this new RBZ I'm definitely buying into the hype. Also the Titleist counterparts I want would cost me $100 more and won't get me more distance. I didn't hit the hybrid but it has the same technology as the fairway wood so you will most likely hit it much farther.

I tried the hybrid at GS and I was blown away on the first hit!!! My yardage was 245..... I was even impressed with the 4 h. I was 229. I thought it was a fluke at first, and it wasn't. Great job taylormade. Really easy to hit.

I am going to try a few of the demos out this week. There is already one thing that I don't like about the drivers though. They only come in 460 cc. Before the new clubs this year, all of the tour model drivers came in 420-440 cc heads but they are not offered this year. They also only come in 3 lofts.

Yeah they are only in 460cc but they only offer 3 lofts because the face can go lower up to 1.5 and up 1.5 so you basically have 3 degrees you can play with. I think the reason they are moving to the 460 only and many companies are, they don't really work the ball with the driver anymore. It's bomb it, find it, then shape it. Heck about any video of a drive you see anymore is long and straight. Would love to see a U.S. Open here in the next few years make the guys playing a working game.

Sorry, but I'm not sold. The USGA an the R&A have set springlike effect and velocity limits. You will not get 2 more yards (let alone 40yards) out of any new club, so long as those rules remain constant. Maunfacturers reached the limits of the rule within months of the rules being added to the rule book.

That is true with the drivers but they still have not reached the limits with FW woods. When it comes to players irons, they maxed out about 20 years ago. The only new tech with irons is coming in the game improvement irons because the are finding different ways and materials to balance out the clubs get more "forgiveness".

There is actually a way for them to get more distance out of drivers but it is not cost effective for them to mass produce the technology. I use to work for a long drive company and they used it in every single driver that they produce. It has to do with how the crown is made and less energy loss from the bulge in the crown at impact. Less bulge equals more energy to the ball and the potential for more distance.

Now I'll have to try one. I can't see myself switching, but it'd be cool to check it out. But I'll bet a lot of money that it's NO longer than my 909 F2

I went by Dick's Sporting Goods last night and hit the hybrid. It was hard to tell from the simulator. I hit some good and longer than a normal 3 iron, but some went very short. I would like to hit a demo on the range. They were running a competition for the weekend. Top 3 long drives with the driver got a $25 gift card. All top three were between 335-340. Good marketing idea.

I'm not saying everyone will have the same results, but my clubs are 7 years old. I obviously didn't try other clubs because it was TM release, I'm sure any new club will give me some good results but Adams is using the same technology and they are saying the same thing. Everyone is different but is it not worth a try? I try everything and play whatever works and as of now this club appears to be the club I'll be putting in the bag. I was back today trying irons and didn't like any of the TM irons I preferred the Callaways. My point is don't be a brand ambassador, play what fits your game and what you can afford. I prefer the Titleist D3 but not the extra $100 price tag.

I'm gonna drink the kool-aid. Can't wait to hit'em on demo day. I hate my callaway 3 wood so this might just be the ticket.

I hit the 3 wood and it has a real consistent feel. I do not carry a driver so I was very interested in the 3 wood and it's performance. The mistakes went further then expected. Clearly hit it further by 5 to 10 yards on quality hits. Liked the look visually. Definitely not as light as the burner in weight which I like. I ordered the 13 degree in hopes that I gain a few more yards over the standard 3 wood. As Titliest is to golf balls Taylor Made is to woods, cutting edge technology. I will give it a shot!

Jacob not sure if your looking a 3wds also but take a look at the new Adams 3wd I think it called Speedline F12 or something like that I hit the 3wd the other day and I hit it about 10 yrds farther than the RBZ. Just something to check out.

I plan too, I'm going to try the Callaway out this next weekend when they launch just to be safe. I like that the Callaway will be adjustable. I'm curious to who stole who's technology. Adams had the groove thing in last year's model so I'm guessing TM copied them.
