So it's the first real nice Saturday of Spring and you know everybody with a pulse is going out. It's sunny and 75.
Beautiful day! We were supposed to tee off at Indian Spring at 1:50PM and finally went at 2:25. We finished the front 9 at 5:40PM. We had to cut through a wedding party taking pictures to get to the tee at 10. I congratulated the happy couple and posed for a pic with the newlyweds. Turns out the best man is a fan of my band and recognized me wich lead to a nice stiff Jack and Coke from the open bar. By now it was starting to thin out and people were bailing in the middle of holes. It was very comical. I finally putted my ball into the cup on 18 for bogey at 7:50PM. It was a long but very enjoyable day. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

Has anyone else tried the 6 hour round?LOL

ZOINKS Mojo, you're playing the wrong courses!! With a start that late in the PM and STILL it took that long? I played during yesterday's beautiful weather too and go around 3 hours 50 minutes WITH a wait on most of the first 11 holes. Our foursome were waived through and sailed till the 17 and waited on the last 2 holes.

I believe the longest round I've had was about 6 hours but that was an outing with a shotgun start and 2 groups (sometimes 3) starting on every hole.

I think the length of the round is can be determined by taking the handicap of the players on the course and multiplying it by the speed of their backswing. Then divide by the average drive. With that result, multiply by the slope and add the temperature at your tee off time. That will give you a ballpark figure for the length of your round.

I would say your math would be right on. I'm not Tiger Woods, but I don't dwell on bad shots. I hit it out there and go to work. The three foursomes that went off ahead of us sprayed and flayed a bit. There was also a group of kids that still had a WALMART tag hanging on the bag. The most interesting was the group behind us. Two guys and a wife.
Let's just say she didn't seem like a very happy person.LOL
I'm playing Deerwood today and it's semi private so I'm hoping to bring it in under 4 hours,.....or not.

I don't mind long rounds being played..I usualy shoot and putt much better. A perfect situation for me is my golf buddy and I (2 total) play behind 4 some's...they try and waive us through and we waive back saying no..I plan my WHOLE day to my golf..I am in no hurries to rush back to this crazy thing we call life..If I get done, and still some daylight left..I hit the driving range, or putting green for a hour or so..Just being out there makes me happy and stress free. If its a 4 hour round, great! It just gives me more time on the practice facilities..If its 6 hours, great, I can take the time to enjoy "the moment" and views on every hole. Way I look at it, still have a heartbeat, and I am on the course soaking it all in. Doesn't make any sense to me how anyone can get there panties in a wad over playing golf period! You can try and explain it, but it doesn't faze me at all. CHEERS!!

Mojo-

I could've told you that would happen. Indian Springs is a great course, but Saturday's are tough. The mornings are OK, but after the twilight rate kicks in, you're gonna wait. I usually play Sunday mornings there and I can play in about 3 hours. By the time I leave, the course starts crowding up a bit. And when that course gets full, you may need a hard hat.
