I have been using a Taylormade Draw driver for about 2 years. When I first started playing golf about 3 years ago I had a bad out to in swing, but with practice I have been able to change my path to inside. My driving for the last several months has been horrific usually resulting in 2 to 5 penalties per round. The ball just reallty draws hard prob a 40 yard hook. Anyway yesterday I was fed up so I went in to the shop and tried the Tour burner which has a square face compared to my driver that has a 2* closed face. I had no idea that it made that much difference my 40 yard hook turned into a nice 10- 15 yard draw and better yet I could fade the ball w/o much trouble.

I hear ya...My misses off the tee were always slices, so I did what I though was logical and got a draw version FT-5.

It helped at first but now, a couple years later, my misses are almost always hooks. I realize its my swing that causes the big hooks, but the closed face sure doesn't help.

I kind of wish I would have just bought the neutral version and learned to hit it.

Yeah I wished I would have bought the reg. r7. I had TM r7 draw Irons also but already ditched those and started using the First set I bought cheap set of Dynacraft prophets (less offset)
Just goes to show you not to buy clubs based on your swing as a beginner b/c if you plan to practice and get better you will out grow those quick. Plus changing your swing path is a whole lot cheaper than Super Game Improvement Irons.

It's the natural progression of things to come.
The closed faced driver had helped you several years ago, and now you're ready for a more advanced game.
I had always thought the "Band-Aid" cure is not a permanent fix for the swing flaws
