You have the r5 and the Burner, kinda hard to beat those by much.
Why a new driver? If you're looking to improve the distance and control, the solution might not be in a new driver.

Remember, the COR ( coefficient Of Restitution ) limit set by the U.S.G.A. max out at 0.83 and the volume and the dimension of the driver head also have restrictions set by the U.S.G.A. conforming rules.

In the quest for a new driver, besides trial and error; you're best getting on a launch monitor with an experienced fitter to get you the correct combination of loft + flex for the optimum launch angle and spin rate for your swing.

Other tricks would be to hit the gym.

I'm dying to use the R9 one of these days and have heard it's the best drive out there. But as far as the one I have used that I have liked the most, it would have to be the Titleist 909D2. I don't think I've ever played a round with a club where I hit it that straight and long every hole throughout the round.

Glade you recognized the issue here.
Just don't pick up golf club smithing.
You'll be having a new driver or new shaft every week. LOL.

get fitted, and hit several drivers, and pick the one driver, that feels the best and gets a lot of distance.

To be brutally honest; you are an 18.7 handicap and list your driving average as 247. You have been playing for only 5 years and at this point; the money you were planning on spending on a new driver tomorrow would be better served on lessons. If you are at the point where you want to really get serious; get lessons from a good PGA teaching professional and wait 6 months to a year and then get that new driver.I think your game and enjoyment will both be better served!

Okie Dokie got my new driver! I went with the 09 Burner! Tried the R9 460, kinda short, Adams Fast 10,didn't feel good may have been the appearance since I have only ever owned TM, Tried the Calloway Big Bertha Diablo, I have the three wood and love it but the driver just felt mushy even with the stiff shaft. Tried the Nike SQ Machspeed.....OMG it sounded like it was gonna bust open everytime I hit a ball! All in all I tried 5 drivers. The burner was the second in line and really made the last three look and feel really bad.

While I was at it I also picked up a 19 degree Raylor hybrid. I have always wanted one and they were on sale for 99.99 so I took the plunge.

Oh and I also played two rounds afterward and there is a dramitic change in my driving distance and accuracy. Of course I am an 18 handicapper so I still had my bad ones, but the good ones were real good! And I actually got back down in the 80s today again ! I Shot a 91 and a 88!

Glad it worked for you. Now the question is can you maintain that scoring?
