I have been blessed with having aced three times but the most memorable is the first one. I was at a little course in Appling, GA, just outside of Augusta. The course is called Three Oaks. I was visiting my sister and had the chance to go out and play, as a single I was out on my own...When I caught the group in front of me it was man with his two small boys. After they finised the 9th hole, a 212 yard par three from the back tees they waved me forward. I hit the shot with 5-iron as it was a downhill shot. The ball had a nice little draw to it which landed just off the right edge of the green with the momentum carrying it forward and to the left. I initially thought the ball would be in a good position for a birdy opportunity but it kept rolling and wound up in the cup. I stood at the top of the hill like Rocky with both arms raised in the air and the 5-iron in one hand. The small boys along with the father where jumping up and down with utter amazement and to my delight as I now had a couple of witmesses.
Even though I still had nine more holes to play alone, I could not get this shot out of my mind. Now everytime I stand on a par three my only thought is to hole the shot and move on to the next hole. For all of you who have yet to have this feeling always remember it only takes one shot....."cheers" and good luck
