One member had question regarding posting a score for handicap calculation.

Arguement was whether to post the score applying the ESC first or does the system automatically calculate the index with the ESC figured in.

Say an eleven handicap index scored an 8 one a given hole, does he post a 7 instead of an 8 for the score when posting the round ? Or would the handicap system automatically adjust the 8 to a 7 when calculating ?

When posting a score using HBH, Stracka will automatically calculate the ESC. If they are posting the score only, then they should adjust the score.

Remember, the ESC is based on the course handicap, not the index. So it's possible that a handicap index of 11 would produce a course handicap of 9 or less.

Here is the rules for ESC and course handicap:

Less than 10, then max double bogey
10 - 19 then max 7 strokes
20 - 29, max 8 strokes
30 - 39, max 9 strokes
40+, max 10 strokes

Is there a formula for calculating course handicap ?
A plug in the slope and rating type ?

HBH - Hole By Hole post.

Course Handicap Calculator: http://www.ushandicap.com/golf..

The Course Handicap formula is:

Handicap Index * (Course Slope/113) , Rounded

Thanks,
That's what I thought before, if posting score Hole By Hole the ESC is automatic.
I'll post link to our club page.
