I was just wondering how many different websites are linked/affiliated with the STRACKA system I am getting memebers from GOLFIQ and US Handicap service. JUst want to be sure these people are allowed to join the clubs legally.

they are good. I posted a similar topic yesterday because they all seemed to be playing a course that didn't exist. Admins say to let it go

I am one of the guys who have lost their handicap status due to the transition. There are no compliant clubs in my area. Do any of you have a private compliant club who would be willing to take on a new member from out of your area ? If not , I understand. From what I've read on this site, I'm not sure there is any incentive to operate a club.

I appreciate your time and consideration.

Bart - you can do a quick search in the USGA Handicap Clubs gtab above for a club local to you. Because we are all Type 3 clubs, one of the rules set by the USGA is that we all must live or work within 50 miles of the club's central location. I'm sure many chairmen, like myself, would be more than happy to allow you into our club, but because of this rule, we can't. I'm sure there is one out there near your area.

Did a search based on your zip code and the are are 3 private clubs and one type 3 near you.

None of them is even close to compliant. 3 of the clubs have only one member. I think you should email the USGA. The 50 mile rule sounds great for densly populated areas like most of the central east coast but this can't work very well in areas that are much more spread out.

As Otterman said , none of those cluba are close to being compliant. This is very disappointing.

Thanks for the replies

Your other option is to alter your zip code slightly, 93536 is well within the LA club radius. You are out in the middle of nowhere. I see lots of farms and mountains.

My suggestion would be to start your own club with some of your regular golf buddies it is very easy to do and although it takes a while to drum up the first ten memebers after that people quickly join your club.
