I called checking on the status of my club approval. They mentioned that I would be interviewed as part of the approval process.

Can anyone tell me what to expect during the interview?

Thanks,

Jeff

Not too much. If you've taken the test to be chairman, it souldn't be a problem. They asked me if I had any events planned for the club and such.

jkautsky,

It'll be an easy interview.
Basically the USGA would like to confirm you're whom you said you are, not a fictional character created on line.
They want to confirm your club has the minimum of 10 members required and all within 50 miles of the club, and your club will follow the USGA guide line for posting scores for the handicap index.
Other questions might be, do you know your duty as a chairman, are you aware that all members must participate at the club tournaments and play golf with other members in the club ( not just getting a handicap index but stay with their own golfing partners ).
So, Following the USGA guide line, and your club intend to function as a real club ( members get to know each other's playing level on the golf course during tournaments ) are the concerns.
Stracka has out lined this for us http://www.ushandicap.com/golf../ make sure you also read the "chairman's duty" on your club page under the chairman's name.
Piece of cake, you'll actually enjoy talking to them, nice people.
