Hello Everyone!
I need to change my grips on my Callaway clubs and I'm wondering if you have some ideas for me... I could replace them with Callaways, but it usually takes a couple of days because they need to send the clubs to Callaway. I thought maybe I could go with Winn grips or something else. Any thoughts?

I have the Golf Pride as well and like them a lot.

Which Golf pride model did you pick? There are so many, it's mind boggling...

Do you have the ones with cord in them? I'm wondering if it isn't too hard on the hands...

Corded grips are normally too tough for tender skins.
The softest corded grip I had used is the Lamkin tour black full cord http://www.golfsmith.com/produ.., much softer than the Golf Pride corded grips.
If you want a grip that gives good traction in humid or wet condition, try this http://www.golfsmith.com/produ..
I kind of like this because it's easier on the hands http://www.golfsmith.com/produ..
As you could tell, I'm partial to the Lamkin's grips.

I'm going to check at GolfTown tomorrow. The Lamkins look nice... I want something that's going to last (I play/practice several times a week), but not too hard on my hands.

All our local golf specialty store offer free installation when yo buy the grips from them, ( 24 hours turn around time ).
It's actually fun to learn to do this by yourself; all you need is the double sided grip tape, mineral spirit ( from hardware store ), a hooked blade for your utility knife, a rubber vice to hold your clubs in the tool table, and new gripes.
All initial cost would be (1) hook utility blade $0.50 + Black and Decker work station $ 18 ( from outlet store ) + rubber vice $2.00 ( I'll send you an extra one I have ), + two sided grip tape ( wider kind ) from golf specialty store $8 for 15'.+ mineral spirits $4. An old rag and drip pan from around the house.
It's actually easier than most of the yard work around the house.
A good set of grips should last you at least one to to seasons, avoid hand lotion and sun block lotion will extend the life of the grip also.

I think I'm going to rely on GolfTown for now ;) It would take me at least a week, three dozen grips or even new clubs to arrive at something that makes sense. That's why God invented men, I suppose :P

Since this is your first set of Lamkin grips, would you post review after playing for a few weeks ?

OK, I will :)
This time I picked men's grips. My women's grip have always been a bit too thin...

Winn DSI. I love them. Soft on the hands but dont slip around when your hands get sweaty during a round. Been through a lot of different grips and these work for me.

So far, I really like my new Lamkin grips. At last I have grips that fit me (women's grips were too thin)! They're soft, but I feel that I have more control over the club than with the original Callaway grips.

I didn't change my wedge's grips though, because Pelz grips are really soft and just wonderful. I wouldn't want any other grip on my wedges.

Which color did you get ? http://www.lamkingrips.com/gri..
These are more durable than the popular Tour Velvet, definitely last longer.

I got the black ones, with the yellow lines. They're classy :) The young assistant pro who was at the store made me try the Golf Prides first, then when I mentionned Lamkins he showed me one of his own clubs that had these Lamkins grips. They're a bit harsher on the hands than my original Callaways, but I also feel that I have more control. So far so good :)
