Missed putt - ball is rolling, probably off the green. Phil runs and hits a moving ball back in the direction of the cup. Cards an 8.
Some are saying he should withdraw or be DQ'd. My view is, he hit a moving ball - 2 stroke penalty and let's move on. The US Open is always hard and there have been several instances where I haven't enjoyed watching it because it's just stupid seeing well made shots be punished so badly or a putt missed that should only roll 3-5' past the hole, rolls off the green. |

They might as well lock up Phil in a Mexican prison and throw away the key! ... at least, that’s how they are making this seem.

Technically there is no such thing as a ball at rest.
The earth rotates on it's axis at approximately 1000 mph at the equator. The earth is moving around the sun at approximately 67,000 mph. We should all give ourselves a 2 stroke penalty each time we make a stroke on a "moving" ball. |

Never been a fan of Phil but think this has been over blown. He broke a rule and was punished. to me these greens were ridiculous. I want to see them play hard courses that test their skill and scores closer to par, but greens should not be unplayable.
