7/14/2008 1:50:08 PM I was in a foursome this last weekend. There was a twosome just behind us. By the 3rd hole I was looking to get them by us. They would stay on the green for a long time. They would not get up to the tee box so we could let them by. I do not like to talk yell on the golf course as other you may not see will still hear you. On the 11th hole with no one around and the tee box and green only a few yards apart I asked them if they wanted by and they did. I have found if you can get to the tee box before they are done teeing off most of the time you will get by unless they have to wait on the group ahead of them. |

7/13/2008 8:41:04 AM I've found that this is the best reason to have a cell phone on the course - If it's really bad, meaning they are clearly several shots behind, call the proshop, tell them which group you are and how many groups the offenders are - they always send a ranger out to speed up play. Another good use for the cell phone is to call the snack shop when just before you tee off on #9 and place your order, it will be ready when you make the turn. |

7/13/2008 5:29:50 AM If you are playing with someone ask to go through. Now if you are by yourself you have no rights according to the Rules to do so. Most of the time the group ahead of you realizes that your back there waiting so most will be glad that you asked. |
