i like to watch peoples progress through the season so i have gone through all the scorecards and have compiled the stat leaders for this event.

I would like to ask all players on thier tournament rounds to please keep track of all your stat to include but not limited to putts, fir, gir, up&down, sand saves, and penalty shots. this will be a great way for everyone  and Yourself to see the areas of your game that are improving and need improvement.

these stats will not be included in the reg season events so we all have a week or two to get it right.

harper are you keeping season stats? this is cool! the Harper system is fine by me... from my perspective an up and down is any save from off the green or a 1 put i would say. from the sand to anything with a chip or pitch or texas wedge.. i had a sand up and down yesterday and didnt know what to log... i put it in as an up and down and a made sand shot. I dont know?g with a chip or pitch or texas wedge.. i had a sand up and down yesterday and didnt know what to log... i put it in as an up and down and a made sand shot. I dont know?

Skill ratings use different statistics to calculate a player's performance for five key categories of play: Power, Accuracy, Short Game, Putting and Scoring. The following statistics are used for each of the categories:

Top 100 Players
PGATOUR.COM is counting down its Top 100 Players to Watch in 2009.
TOP 100 PLAYERS

Power - Driving Distance, Percentage of Drives over 300 yards and Percentage of Drives over 320 yards

Accuracy - Driving Accuracy, GIR over 100 yards and Proximity to the Hole over 100 yards

Short Game - Scrambling, Proximity to the Hole (PTH) from the Sand, PTH from the Rough, PTH from the Fringe, PTH from less than 100 yards and Greens in Regulation from less than 100 yards

Putting - Putting Average, Putting inside 5 feet, Putting from 5-15 feet, Putting from 15-25 feet, Average Distance of Putts Made and 3-putt avoidance over 25 feet

Scoring - Scoring Average

I still have don't have the answer I was looking for. I think with the PGA

Can someone explains to me what I should count as a successful or unsuccessful up & down? For instance, let's say that my tee-shot lands OB on a par 4 (I'm not speaking from personal experience, ok ;) My third shot would have to land directly on the green and then I'd have to have only one putt for this to be a successful up & down. Chances of this happening are approx. 0. So I guess that in that scenario, there's no attempt at getting up&down, so no failed u&d. Do you only count a shot as an u&d attempt if you're close enough from the green (for instance, it would have to be a chip or pitch shot?)
And what if it's your 4th shot on a par 4 and then you land it close enough so that you only have 1 putt to finish the hole? I guess it's not an up & down because you're not saving par, but it's still interesting to note how many putts follow your short game shot...
Please help clear the confusion in my mind :) My third shot would have to land directly on the green and then I'd have to have only one putt for this to be a successful up & down. Harper this is awesome. Now if everyone had a golf gps we could add driving distance

Chazmo 4/14/2009 8:32:54 AM
Wow harper 1270. 17 putts would have been awesome. If I could only hit GIR's I could have a decent game. I guess that's why golf spelled backwards is flog

Busdriver you gotta give us your secret. How the hell are you so efficient off the tee. Hell I thought I was doing good and I use a 3i half the time.
