Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett, famed swing instructors, have spent nearly 20 years of their lives developing the Stack and Tilt Swing Method. And, since the DVD instruction tool was first introduced in 2005, it has drawn some rave reviews from amateurs and pros alike…so we thought we would put it to the test and see if it is really worth the investment.
So what’s this product all about? And how can it help YOU become a better golfer? Well, let’s take a closer look and see!
“Achieve a Straighter, Longer, and More Consistent Golf Swing Easily and Effectively. Dominate your competition and start playing like a Pro with the #1 Swing on tour!†Well that’s what they are saying…but does it work?
Okay, maybe I was just sick of hearing about new products popping up that promised maximum power and distance â€" or perhaps it’s because I’ve always understood that developing a straight, long, and consistent golf shot NEVER came easily…but something about Stack & Tilt sounded phony to me right from the start.
I’m not one that likes to buy into hype, so when I saw the pitch for Stack and Tilt I shrugged and forgot about it within minutes.
But people continued to talk about this method everywhere I went â€" at the course, in the magazines, and even on the PGA Tour. And the more Stack and Tilt continued to make headlines, the more I knew it deserved a closer look.
Stack and Tilt contradicts everything you’ve ever been taught about your golf swing.
The method relies on keeping your weight stacked over the ball during the backswing and tilting left before unwinding and springing the lower body towards the target for a swing that bottoms out just ahead of the ball, causing excellent velocity and unlimited control.
According to Plummer and Bennett, the three fundamentals of a good golf swing are:
By applying the Stack & Tilt
method and focusing on the fundamentals, everything else they say will
fall in place including an improved swing plane, better ball position,
comfortable posture, better grip, and easier alignment with the ball.
Beyond that, the swing is easy to self-analyze and can be quickly
adjusted to overcome your hooks and slices as well as fat and thin
shots.
If you are committed to learning the Stack & Tilt method and practice it thoroughly, you’ll definitely experience an improvement in your game.
Tour Pros â€" such as Aaron Baddeley, Charlie Wi,
Eric Axley, and Mike Weir â€" have claimed it has worked wonders for
their game and thousands of amateurs have noticed the same.
But in the end it all comes down to you. If you are comfortable with where you’re at right now, there’s really no need to try something new. But if you’ve been frustrated by your lack of control and searching for a solution that will provide lasting results, check it out.
You probably won’t master the swing as quickly as they advertise, but the concept is simple enough for somebody that is serious about improving his swing.
The Stack & Tilt instructional DVDs are sold by Medicus Golf at just under $100.
While the package is worth every penny, there have been quite a few complains about Medicus due to its deceptive advertising (if you’re not paying attention, you might think it’s only $19.95) and nagging up-sells.
However, for the price of one day’s green fee and cart rental you have the opportunity to revolutionize your swing for life! While I wouldn’t go so far as to guarantee results, I don’t see how you could ever regret the purchase. Even if you revert back to your old swing down the road, you’ll still have gained value and learned many valuable lessons along the way.
The video presentation is average at best with Plummer and Bennett standing in front of the camera most of the time without any standard production add-ons or enhancements. But, the content is absolute gold and worth the money for many golfers in our opinion. Especially those that lack a gameplan or consistent routine. One reason why recreational golfers find scoring to be so difficult is because they lack consistency with their swing. We are always searching for that perfect swing that we read or saw on the TV. And in this instance I feel the Stack & Tilt can be of great value. It will not only get you in a repeatable routine it will also allow you to begin focusing on the other aspects of scoring.
So…we feel Stack & Tilt is not only worth the $100 you’ll pay, but it is also worth every second of your time, especially if you fall into the before mentioned category. If you pay attention to the lessons and apply the techniques, you could see your golf game drastically improve in a matter of weeks. And compared to the amount of money many of us have spent on lessons and equipment this is a mere drop in the hat.

1/27/2009 2:57:00 PM I have a full swing for my long game that is a 2 plane swing featuring reliable high cuts or fades with every club, I can also draw this shot on occasion. When I want to hit a punch directly into the wind, run the ball up onto the green when no hazard is in between, hit a low hard draw or fade I use a shorter more controlled swing which is very similar if not the same as this method. It helped my accuracy a lot on these shots. wind, run the ball up onto the green when no hazard is in between, hit a low hard draw or fade I use a shorter more controlled swing which is very similar if not the same as this method.
