Fantasy: Go With Your Gut!
Being new to fantasy golf, I've experimented with a few different strategies over the last 3 weeks. My competitive nature drove me to try to come up with a system, to find that edge. My strategies/thought processes include, 1) PICK A GUY PLAYING IN THE TOURNEY!.....although I did not fall victim to this, it baffles me to see numerous picks for golfers not even in the field. 2) Stay away from Blue Chips early. One can only use a player 4 times, keep them in reserve. 3) vs. 4)......Do I pick players that have mad game right now, regardless of the course and past performance, or pick players based on their past performance at a particular course even if their game has taken a "Duval" for the moment. HMMM....take a guy who's hot, but stinks up this course......or take a guy who always seems to play well here. Week one at Kapalua I took Ogilvy and Leonard without any number crunching, simply hunching. Weeks 2 and 3 I compiled the data (who's hot, who does well here), ran the pros and cons and called a psychic hotline---(not really), and the results......I TANKED! The only thing I got out of it was heartache and headache. So, my advice is to GO With Your Gut, let it ride....oh and pick a guy playing in the tourney...........Jay
