i use my LW,in the bunkers and around the greens,the SW,from 50 & 75 yards out.

I guess for me I use the lob wedge only when I want to stop the ball with no release. Lob wedges are not for the pitch and run method. Really is no distinguished distance inside 50yds. You can pitch and run if there is access, but you may have to lob if there are bunkers, tiers, or anything that will effect your pitch and run. Thats when you break out the lob. You want to "LOB" the distance then. I use my 60 alot, but it has taken years of frustrating shots (coming up short) to get used to it. Good luck, by the way, wise man says LOB means Loft Over the Bull****. I use my LOB, when I am just inside 50 to 30 yards from the green, anything closer, I use my 52 or 56 wedge.

I guess I was afraid to use it because I did not know when to use it. I tried it once today and loved the result so I will just have to practice with it more on the range so I can get comfy with it, but everyone's insight here has really helped. I use the Lob Wedge when the pin is tucked tightly behind a bunker, Do not swing the Lob Wedge any different than your Picthing Wedge.

I remembered what everyone was telling me on this site and pulled it out of the bag one time today. I had to shoot over a near side bunker to the green and the flag was closer to my side of the green, so I used my Lob wedge and it flew over the bunker and rolled right over the hole before stopping about 3 ft past the pin. It was awesome, so I used my Lob wedge and it flew over the bunker and rolled right over the hole before stopping about 3 ft past the pin. It was awesome

The lob wedge has been a great tool for me, just make sure you do hit the range and get plenty of work with it. A lot of people that are new to a lob wedge have a tendency to hit it thin and blade it a mile past your intended target. It's great for getting over a green side trap, or small trees and stopping it quick. Good luck with it!a mile past your intended target.
