1/3/2009 9:37:20 PM I stretch first, if I have my Momentus in the trunk I swing that about 20 times and if I don't then I grab 2 or 3 clubs and swing them very very slowly. If I am there an hour early (seldom), I like to hit the range, and spend the last 15 mins. chipping and putting. hit the range, and spend the last 15 mins. chipping and putting. |

12/21/2008 1:17:34 AM I usually stretch for a good 15 minutes cuz I'm fat. Then I hit the range and only hit about 20-30 shots trying to imitate the first few holes of the round. Finally I hit the putting green to try and get my stroke where I want it. Granted this only happens if it's not a spur of the moment round.get my stroke where I want it. 12/20/2008 4:58:14 PM I usually need a lengthy warm-up, esp. if I haven't been practicing or playing the day before... Usually I'd start with putting for 20 minutes, then short game for 20 minutes, then hit a bucket of balls, then I'm feeling relaxed and ready :) I used to start with hitting balls and then finish with putting, but my trainer convinced me to finish with the club I'd hit for my first shot instead. Starting easy (putting, then short game) and increasing to irons and driver is a gentler warm-up than starting right away hitting balls with my wedges or irons.ls, then I'm feeling relaxed and ready :) I used to start with hitting balls and then finish with putting, but my trainer convinced me to finish with the club I'd hit for my first shot instead. 12/19/2008 9:57:23 AM I tend to do some putting before the round to get a feel for the speed. I also like to do some stretching. It's my experience that hitting alot of balls before a round doesn't help me to play better. Being loose, and concentrating on tempo helps me play better more than anything else.Being loose, and concentrating on tempo helps me play better more than anything else. |

12/19/2008 8:08:14 AM I don't like to hit the range right before a round, I've always found it does more harm than good. I definitely hit up the putting green though, it's a must! Typically the putting greens are very similar to the course greens, so you can get a good idea of how they're rolling.milar to the course greens, so you can get a good idea of how they're rolling. |

12/18/2008 10:54:02 AM I, like Goynes42, only hit a few balls with selected clubs. I really just want to see what my body feels like that particular day. I typically hit a draw but if i see that the ball is flying straight or even a touch of fade, I won't fight it on the course. I do better when I just play with what I have that day. I hit 3-4 balls in the following order: 8i, 6i, 4i, SW, 7i, 5i, 2i, D... then chip and putt.or even a touch of fade, I won't fight it on the course.
