4/27/2009 9:49:54 PM The pressure in the course is much more strigent that the pressure at the driving range or at the pro shop. At the driving range i slam balls down range and chipping to the flag I dont have to worry about dogged leg fairways or hidden bunkers, the treeline is nonexistant and i have no one pushing! I seem to fall apart on the course my man phifedawg said it well "90% Mental"bout dogged leg fairways or hidden bunkers, the treeline is nonexistant and i have no one pushing! 11/19/2008 12:45:21 PM Hey Greg you can allways try "Tapping on Golf Performance". I wouldn't have believed I could help anyones golf game, but I have. EFT or Tapping seems to help if your a great golfer or just a hacker. I would love for you ( you seem like you don't believe it ) to try some of the techniques and see if they help. If they don't you have nothing to loose. Sincerely Robert I would love for you ( you seem like you don't believe it ) to try some of the techniques and see if they help. If they don't you have nothing to loose. Sincerely Robert |

10/15/2008 2:52:11 PM to take a quote from a great Yankee player, "Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical." - Yogi Berra The same holds true for golf. |

10/14/2008 7:45:26 PM As a PS, here's a little story from twenty years ago: I was playing with my boss and his teenage son Chris. Chris teed up for a shot over the lake. I said, "Don't hit it in the lake." He hit the ball into the lake. He teed up another ball, I said, "Don't hit this one into the lake." He hit it into the lake, turned toward me and screamed, "Why don't you shut the @^#$ up!" At the time I thought of the absurdity and how laughable it was that he thought I somehow caused him to hit his balls into the lake. Twenty years later I've come to the profound realization that I DID INDEED cause him to hit into the lake. His last thought was to not hit into the lake and he so focused on NOT hitting into the lake that the result was he DID hit into the lake. That has been somewhat of an "awakening" for me...just how powerful mental attitude is and what an amazing impact it can have on a golf shot. |

10/14/2008 7:25:54 PM Brando's dead on line here. 20years ago I gave up golf. It was killing me mentally. I couldn't break out of the 90's and wasn't satisfied there. I knew it was mental but was filled with frustration. I'd shoot 42 on the front nine, get excited and shoot 54 on the back nine. I took it up again this year after not swinging a club for years, absolutely DETERMINED to be in the 80's...guess what? I wasn't getting there and again felt that familiar old frustration creeping in. Then I came to the realization that it is all mental. I'm defeating myself before I even get on the course. I've decided I cannot force my way into shooting in the 80's though I know I have the ability. So I finally have reached a point that I've decided not to concentrate on score but instead, on having fun. One day, it will all come together and I'll get there. Of course, the older I get the harder it is to have that smooth swing I used to have, but I'll get there. |

10/14/2008 5:29:38 PM Been there too :) A few month ago, I asked a pro I know for advice, because I really didn't like how I was hitting my irons with my new coach. He watched me hit a few balls and for the first time in weeks, without him giving me any kind of advice, I hit my irons rock solid. He looked at me and asked me what I was complaining about :) I had a great practice session after he left. It's like feeling better just because you saw a doctor, even if he didn't prescribe any drugs :) |

10/14/2008 2:51:18 PM Yea - Been there /Are there! Seems like finding an intermittent electrical short on my car. Trouble light comes on - go to the mechanic and the trouble light mysteriously goes "Off". But unlike a mechanical vehicle,,,, the only short in our system is our own minds. Take an aspirin, call Dr. Phil and keep practicing. |
