8/27/2008 3:01:50 PM Probably to avoid a callous from splitting open. I do this, but it is on the ring finger of right hand. When one splits open it can be very painful, and takes a long time to heal. I don't wear a glove, and I use cord grips. So I have pretty good callouses. Another reason could be to help prevent the club twisting out of position thru impact. Could be a few other, but it is probably to protect the finger from injury. I assume you are talking about Tiger. It is probably to protect it. With the amount of balls he hits, he will be protecting it. Practice is hard on the body parts too. |
