The Birdie Seeker's played....

WHERE: Golf Club of Texas
WHEN:  Feb 27, 2019
SHOWTIME: 8:00 a.m.
START:  9:00 a.m. shotgun
SHIRT:  colors suspended until spring

Praise through prayer elevates our requests right on to delivered blessings.  Our fellowship was opened cheerfully and eagerly by those in the prayer circle.  We are awesomely blessed by God.  There is not much else to say to that.  That statement covers a lot of space whether in the abstract or the right here and now.  I know all of you got that; if not I believe we can help you to see why there is reason to always praise God.  Let's keep the faith and ensure our fellowship through the game of golf is something special each week.

Shout Outs...to our prayer leaders Herman Price, Mike Taylor, Willie Broadnax, Clay Hanna, Sam Moore, Johnny Coleman, and Gilbert Moses.  They unify us in the prayer circle to deliver our undivided attention to praise God, to give our burdens to God, and to thank God for delivering a pathway to everlasting life.  They do it not because it is a task; but because it is always good that man pray.  The fellowship is enriched by each one of you.  Whether we hook'em or join hands the fellowship and our families are covered in prayer...no matter if you are absent or present.

All right, you know that we play every Wednesday.  The 2019 Birdie Seeker's Club Championship starts 6 Mar, at Gateway Hills.  Rufus Odem is the reigning Birdie Seeker's Club Champion and plans to defend his title against all would-be challengers. This years season has been condensed to gain optimal participation and for a few other potential advantages.  Review the schedule to see the Club Championship schedule.

Our venues are open to all golfers;  just send an  email or text message to RSVP.  Include your full name, venue, your pace of play and your game entry preference in the message.  We do not have membership dues or player fees.  Golfers may elect to enter some, none, or all competitions.  Our core values include, but are not limited to the following:
  • arriving to the course before time,
  • praying on time,
  • teeing off on time,
  • everybody completing their round and are off the course in less than 4 1/2 hours while playing tournament style golf, and
  • having fun while doing all of the above
We thank each of you maintaining our core values!

We played our regular  Birdie Seekers' format, which is multiple Flighted Average Stroke Low Net (ASLN), Blind Draw, multiple Skins, and Closest-to-Pin (CTP) games. The entire field is always automatically in the CTP; no entry fee is required for the CTP competition.  The Skins quorum was two Skins per hole this week.  You can read more about us and our format and tournament rules by clicking on the "Format & Tournament" link located top/left of this page.

The field of 29 golfers choose to compete as follows: 24 golfers entered the Skins game, 27 golfers were enrolled in the ASLN (net) competition, and 27 golfers were declared eligible for the Blind Draw competition.  There was  Calcutta action this week, Gilbert Moses "Mo" and Randy Magee picked up there regular superman Bobby Ingram.  Mo covered Bobby's Net and Randy picked-up Bobby's Blind Draw.  As a field we posted 18 birdies and 143 pars at the Golf Club of Texas. The Skins D.O.A. report; there were 9 birdies D.O.A.
