FORMAT

  • 2-Person Scramble
  • Handicap index as of February 15, 2019 will be used to determine course handicap.
  • Team Course Handicap will follow the recommendations of the USGA.
  • Player A will have the lower course handicap and Player B will have higher course handicap.
  • Team Course Handicap will be determined as follows: Multiply the course handicap of Player A by 35%. Multiply the course handicap of Player B by 15%. Add the results of the two computations.
  • Fractions of 0.1 - 0.4 will be rounded down and fractions of 0.5 - 0.9 will be rounded up to obtain a whole number for the Team Course Handicap.
  • Example: If Player A's course handicap is 10, then 35% of 10 is 3.5. If Player B's course handicap is 18, then 15% of 18 is 2.7. Adding the results together equals 6.2 rounded to 6.
  • The team with the lowest net score will be declared the winner.
  • In the event of a tie, a "scorecard playoff" as per USGA Rules Section 5 will be used to determine the winner.
SCRAMBLE RULES
  • Standard USGA Rules will apply except as stated below.
  • Each team will be required to use a minimum of six (6) tee shots from each team member.
  • Each team member will hit an initial tee shot on each hole.
  • The team will decide the best shot and each player will hit their next shot from that location.
  • The spot of the next shot must be marked with a marker (coin or tee).
  • Once marked, player may lift and clean their ball.
  • Players will then place their ball no more than one (1) club length from the original spot.
  • This placement CANNOT be nearer the hole NOR may it improve the original lie.  If the chosen spot is in the rough, then the ball must be placed in the rough. If the chosen spot is in a bunker, then the ball must be placed in the bunker.
  • Placement of the ball may improve the team's stance, swing and/or line of sight as long as it is within the one club length limit and does not improve the original lie.
  • On the putting green, the ball will be placed no more than six (6) inches from the original spot no nearer the hole.
  • This format will repeat for each shot thereafter until completion of the hole.
  • The holing of any shot will constitute the end of the hole for that team and that score will be final.
  • If a team member misses a putt and decides to putt out, then the other team member will not have the opportunity to attempt the original putt.
SCORE POSTING
  • This round will NOT be a postable score.
