WHERE: Golf Club of Texas
WHEN:  Jan 9, 2019
SHOWTIME: 8:00 a.m.
START:  9:00 a.m. shotgun
SHIRT:  colors suspended until spring

The Birde Seekers opened the outing as usual.  Thank God for giving us another day that included playing golf in it.  I certainly look forward to having more opportunities to play golf and to play at a high level.

Shout Outs. . . Happy New Year!   And to Jason Cataract and Lahue Bishop.  It was Jason's first time out with us; while Lahue is back in town.  It is good to have both of you in our field of golfers; see you next week.

The new rules are now in play.  We have adopted all of the new rules.  However, we did not accept the new local rule.  The Birdie Seekers will continue to play lost balls and out of bounds as a stroke and distance penalty.  Playing with the flag stick in has been found to significantly save time. Ensure you review the USGA rules; it each golfer's responsibility to know the rules according to the USGA.

We played our regular  Birdie Seekers' format, which is multiple Flighted Average Stroke Low Net (ASLN), Blind Draw, multiple Skins, and Closest-to-Pin (CTP) games. The entire field is always automatically in the CTP; no entry fee is required for the CTP competition.  The Skins quorum was two Skins per hole and only a single Net flight this week.  You can read more about us and our format and tournament rules by clicking on the "Format & Tournament" link located top/left of this page.

The field of 21 golfers choose to compete as follows: 19 Blind Draw, 20 Skins, and 20 were in Low Net.   There was no Calcutta action this week.  As a field we posted 11 birdies and 80 pars.  The Skins D.O.A. report; there were 3 birdies posted on the 1st and 9th hole this week.  And there were 2 par Skins that held up at The Golf Club of Texas.

Congratulations to  each of  our competition  prize winners in each leaderboard category!  See the individual results on the leader-board and Blind Draw table  on this page.  ASLN prizes  were awarded to the 1st thru 3rd placed golfers.  The Blind Draw quorum allowed prizes for the 1st thur 3rd placed teams composed of 3 golfers; "C" was the combination drawn this week at the point of validation.
