You know, Jack Nicklaus reached that same hole in 1975 (which wasn't any shorter back then, mind you) with, as he put it, "two well-hit 3 woods." Yeah Bubba hits it way long, but stick an old persimmon 3 wood in his hands with a balata ball and see if he can still do it.

That is not normal behavior ya'll. That should mean that with kindness and instruction, I should at least be able to jack the odd 300 yarder, and bring my average up to 260 or so, huh? I'll tell ya this, I've been dealt a disservice by the old, "drive for show and putt for dough" cliche. Every round that I am driving well, I score accordingly lower. There is nothing that compares with swinging an 7 iron into a green as opposed to 4 iron or hybrid.

I'm not sure Tiger's ever been the slightest bit jealous when watching someone play golf, Bubba may have been the first to ever do that.
