Tiger and Steve Williams Split

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tiger Woods has decided to get rid of Steve Williams as his caddie.

Woods announced on his website Wednesday that he and Williams, who have been together since March 1999, will no longer be working together.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Woods did not say who would replace Williams, or when he would return. Woods continues to rest and rehabilitate left leg injuries.

Williams has worked the last two majors for Adam Scott of Australia.

	bmoody16 7/29/2011 9:49:03 PM I little bit sad not to see the two of them together going after Jack's record. Tiger messed things up for sure. Just goes to show that bad decisions have an impact on more than just the person making the bad decisions. This is really an epic failure. These two should have been the ultimate story of golf for years and years.

He keep yanking at the controls and disbelieving his gauges. HEY!!! PILOT ERROR M.F!! He has to make a major decision that FIRST involves a long look in the mirror or else he's crashing this plane for good. I think he is absolutely physically capable of achieving every goal that he ever set for himself. At this point in time, I DO NOT think he has the emotional fortitude to play putt putt.
