HARTSELLE, AL, USA -- Pastor Bob Kurtz, aka "Golf's Iron Man", a 70-year-old Episcopalian vicar, completed 1,850 holes of golf in a seven-day period at Quail Creek Golf Resort with 7,591 strokes for an average of 74.55 - only 2.55 strokes over par - setting the new world record for Most Golf Holes Played in A Week.
I found this on Church Report. It goes on to say:
The previous Guinness world record for the Most golf holes played in seven days (cart) was set by Thomas Bucci (USA), who completed 1,801 golf holes in seven days at the Albany Country Club, Voorheesville, New York, USA.
“I made it fine until the last day,” he said. “Late Friday I began to feel a little dizzy and went inside. My doctor ordered an IV and I was back on the course early Saturday,”
At an interview he was asked "What about going for other golf related records?"
“No, this is it,” he replied. His wife Pat agreed.

6/15/2011 10:01:05 PM Dang. If I play 45 holes in a day I am finished and sleep like a baby. I am in really good shape and I dont think I could play more than 5 or 6 rounds in a day. I dont see how he could average 15 rounds per day for 7 days straight. Even the pros say that they are wore out after 36 holes and they play relatively slow and with alot less strokes. |

6/15/2011 2:19:07 PM I could never break that record I don't think. And definitely not in Alabama. The 1 Guiness golf record I'd like to give a run at 1 day is most holes in a day. Looks like 612 was the record set last year. |
