BIGGEST MAJOR MELTDOWNS OF THE PAST 25 YEARS
Updated: 4/13/2011 6:44:51 AM

After reading about all the talk of Rory's recent meltdown at the MASTERS, it got me wondering. What are some other MELTDOWNS that have happened in MAJORS? In order of oldest to most recent here are 15 of them. Which one is the BIGGEST one in your opinion? Feel free to add some that are not here. In my opinon it is J, only needing a double bogey to win a Major and get a TRIPLE! Ouch!

Awesome examples, but Van de Velde was and still will be the biggest meltdown!!!

all great examples, for Rory I could feel his disappointment. I hope this doesn't become a big head game for him, he is young with a long career a head of him. There will be other MastersEnjoy watching him play.

J all the way. Only needing a double bogey on the last hole to win and losing it?

J all the way.

They were all painful to watch. But we've all been there before, the difference is they are playing for millions and a nice trophy and a part of history. I guess thats why I don't take the game serious enough for myself, it doesn't matter if I shoot a 70 or a 80, its not going to change who I am or anything for me~

j and n Watching the van de velde meltdown was epic, and to miss a 2 footer for a win!!!!!

I apologize I thought O was a 4 shot lead with 4 holes left. It was after 4 holes on Sunday instead. Dislexia kicking in again. I change mine to J. I think I could manage a double bogey with a putter like Duck said.

There are several good choices, but I'll go with J.

For me it J, there are a few blow ups but here all you need to win is a double on 18. I even think it was a par 5 ??? I seen this on TV it took him 2 times of playing the hole and shot a double with nothing but his putter. Putter off the tee box all the way to the hole.

For me it goes, E, J, A.

Those are all good examples

E & J are the standouts for me. They're all devastating in there scope, but these were framed with leads on 18.

N and M. all the others went over the duration of a round or another player had a great round but to miss 2 footers to basically win. that's all on you. that is freezing up and choking when the pressure is too much to make a tap in.
