I went out and had a free fitting (for those who missed my earlier blog about the PGA doing so, here's the link to that blog: http://www.ushandicap.com/golf-blogs/blogs_post.asp?id=11150685) at King Par in Flint, Michigan.

I am going to post some of the data here as we have some very astute members when it comes to clubs (ie Dew and Luke, to name just two, though we have plenty more)... I'd like some feedback

My headspeed averaged 81mph, which, if I'm remembering right is more of a seniour-flex speed, yet 4 of the 5 clubs recommended to me have STIFF flexes, which IIRC (If I Remember/Recollect/Recall Correctly) is for 100 mph+...

I was consistently a 3 in tempo, 4 in toe down, 5 in kick angle, and 8-9 in release factor (all on 1-10 scales... not sure if higher = better or lower = better, but those are the numbers I were given)

My impact tape was mostly dead-centre, with one shot hitting between +1 and +2 towards the toe, but overall, I hit mostly dead-centre and was recommended for standard lie angle/standard length.

They recommended 2 different graphite shafts and 2 different steel shafts, depending on if I chose to go to steel or graphite when I buy in the future.

For graphite: A 91g Project X Graphite 5.0, standard flex OR A 71g Pro Launch Axis, Stiff Flex, G weight only

For steel: A True Temper GS 95 Stiff 300 (103g) OR a True Temper NS Pro 950 Stiff (100g).

I neglected to ask if any of these were considered high kickpoint, low kickpoint, or regular or even if the kickpoint would make a difference in my swing.

With the exception of the last club I tried (A TaylorMade r7), I pretty much hit everything straight, but definitely on the shorter end of the spectrum. (Everything I tried was a 7-iron and I was usually in the 120-140 yardage range.) The r7 was all over the place, wildly left and right. I certainly would not buy that particular series, for myself, though it may be perfect for someone else.

I will post the 5 recommended clubs later. I'm curious as to what you all think is pertinent and what recommendations you'd come up with based on those data points and see how similar or divergent the thought processes are.

Thanks in advance!

Shaun
