I am looking to get new clubs, irons, at the end of the year when they go on sale. Give me your suggestion and why. I may comment on why I will or will not consider them.

7/2/2011 10:13:21 PM If you are looking for a new hybrid try the Adam's a7, or the new model that is coming out. Or you could try Tour Edge's model, too. If you need new woods too, look into the Tour Edge Exotics. They have a spring like effect of a driver. Very solid. I would have them, but I believe in having the same model and year of the driver and woods with the same shafts from the same company. I know I sound like I am promoting Tour Edge, but their stuff is great. They are up and coming, and are very good with there work. |

6/29/2011 12:01:03 AM By the way.. I have the KBS Stiff Steel Shafts in mine with a mid kick. Tour Edge gives you the option of four different shafts, and in either regular, stiff, or x stiff. Maybe you can find a demo day some where and try them out. |

6/28/2011 10:34:21 AM Also, knowing all of that will also lead to your advantage with those irons depending on situations. say a green is sloped back to front. You want to leave it in front of the hole or behind the hole depending on what putt you like better. If you have 135 - 140 yards. You know you can fade a 9 to be behind it, or to draw a PW to stay in front of it. |

6/28/2011 10:32:11 AM If you are a blade guy I would go with the Mizuno MP-58 (I don't know your price range, thats about 800 to 900). If you are a cast guy, I would go with the Tour Edge Exotics XCG-4 (around 400 to 600 depending on shafts). I am not usually a cast person but I do love those XCG-4's. If I had the money I would have bought those Mizuno MP-58's. There are not really any cons with the XCG-4's. I have found everything to be what I want. Forgiveness and Workability. I can draw, straight or fade it when I want to. I can actually change my swing planes to do so with these clubs and I could not be happier. Fade is 5 yards less and a Draw are 5 yards more so you can have a good idea of what you want with those. If you hit the shot off the toe, it has the same flight, but it won't draw or fade. Example of Fade and draw: 9 Iron Straight: 140 Draw: 145 Fade: 140 Pitching Wedge: 130 Draw 135 Fade 125 See, if you have to hit a 135 - 140 yards short and it is a dog leg, or there is a tree limb, etc., you can just know what to do. Now when I start doing better around the greens, my scores will get more red (: |
