Ok. how many of you out there over the span of your golfing life have spent money on Gimmicks, with the sole purpose of making you a better golfer. What was it, and did it help or not. I'm thinking about this because the last couple of months I have spent time at the range hitting the pro striker 7 iron. This club is a teaching tool with the sole purpose of making you a better ball striker. It is designed to make you keep the club head behind your hands, and hit down on the ball. This is something that I very seldom did. I was a notorious club flipper, the key word here is was. I got to play my first round of the year this week, I probably hit my irons as well as I have ever hit them for an entire round. Everyone knows the feel of that perfectly struck shot Right on the sweet spot. The trouble is I didn't feel this very often with my iron play, so to play a round with nothing but well struck shots is pretty remarkable. Has anyone else tried this club, and what sort of results did you have. If you are an inconsistant ball stricker I'm Saying this one was not a waste of money.

3/25/2011 10:41:22 AM I bought the medicus 5 iron...and that actually helps me. I like it. I let my friend borrow it instead of spending money on the tour striker and/or v-harness. He likes it as well and glad that he was able to borrow it and not waste the money on the other gimmicks out there. |

3/24/2011 9:05:39 PM Never tried a gimmick club but I have the power swing which is a club with 4 fins on it that give resistance. I use it to stay loose and warm up. |

3/24/2011 2:44:34 PM I have the Tour Striker 7 iron. I like it. I now take divots on all my irons. I had the Medicus Dual Hinged Driver. After a lot of swings at the hardest setting, I realized that tempo and swing plane were not my issue. I returned it 4 days after purchase. I bought an impact bag and never used it. It also would have helped me keep my hands ahead of the ball similar to the tour striker. I even bought that training aid that wraps around your biceps and keeps your arms from getting too far apart during your swing so you have a one piece takeaway. It helped give me the proper feel of the back swing but I dont use it anymore. I have the Medicus weighted driver. Used it for a while until I sprained my fingers doing an exercise with my golf coach trying to learn to release the club. Swung it harder than my fingers liked. Since then, its been sitting in the garage. What looks funny to me is the V-Harness. I would never buy that product. Im not dissin Mediate, but his swing is ugly and it looks like everyone that used that device had the same swing on the commercial. I'm not a fan. |
