PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA -- It looks like an early spring for 2011.
Punxsutawney Phil came out of his hole Wednesday morning, but saw no shadow. Traditionally, that means an early arrival of spring.
This news comes as a relief to the winter-weary.
Thousands came out for the 125th annual weather forecast, braving muddy, icy conditions.
Phil's handlers, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle, concoct the forecasts. Before Wednesday, Phil has seen his shadow 98 times and hadn't seen it 15 times since 1887. There are no records for the remaining years, though the group has never failed to issue a forecast.
We have hope!!!!
