The Disabled British Open is the first truly pan-disablity amateur golf tournament, offering golfers with a wide range of disabilities the opportunity to compete against each other according to their golf handicaps. The tournament also offers the more elite golfers the opportunity to compete in a "gross" strokeplay tournament to become the Disabled British Open Champion of the year.

The Disabled British Open is supported by the Accentuate programme, which aims to use the inspiration provided by the International Paralympic Movement and the unique heritage of the south-east as the birthplace of disability sport to change the lives of disabled people.

On the European Tour the leader at the Vivendi Cup just finshed shooting a nine under 63 (-9). Then I watched another guy finish his round at -3. Doesn't sound particularly impressive until I tell you that he only had one leg! That's right, he shot a 69 and he only has one leg. On a professional tour! No prosthetic leg at all, just an empty pant leg cut like shorts. Inspirational!

Good to see these types of things. I really think that golf should be paralympic sport at the 2016 games when golf comes along in the Olympics.

Pretty cool-- the only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves!!
