I don't see Tiger ever committing to the sport as he previously did. I think his future of being the best for now is safe, but can he regain the mystique he once held?

8/24/2010 5:19:20 PM As far as mystique, a ESPN poll asked who has had the biggest fall from the public's graces? Tiger, Mark McGuire, Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, or Roger Clemens. Overwhelmingly, Tiger had 46% of the votes with 2nd being Barry Bonds at only 20%. So for the time being his mystique is gone. |

8/24/2010 9:04:34 AM I think tiger's committment to the game will never be the same; as for his Mystique his competition will now look at him as human. |

8/24/2010 8:03:54 AM Maybe not the mystique, but, now that his divorce is final, Tiger can probably get down to business. |

8/24/2010 2:40:25 AM He won't win this year. Next year will be new, and Tiger will be fresh. I'm no 'Tiger Hater'. He's a phenom but he is human. I think he has what it takes to come back to play well again. Now, he will dedicate ALL of his time to the sport. |

8/22/2010 10:50:16 PM I don't think so. He'll never be the same, well, he'll never dominate like he once did, let me put it that way. He'll win again for sure, but I think there are a bunch of young guys who grew up wanting to be better than him that aren't afraid of him like Tiger's peers appear to be. |

8/22/2010 9:09:05 PM Observation: There seem to be two different questions people are addressing. Will Tiger regain a high level of play? Will Tiger regain the mystique he once held? No problem with answering either one, just wanted to point out that there seem to be different questions being answered. |

8/22/2010 4:07:10 PM I think he can eventually get back sometimes there is a major change in a persons life and it can take a while to get back. It happened to Michael Jordan in the mid 90's when his father was murdered, not exactly the same thing as Tiger, but it was a life changing event that caused him to take some time away from basketball. I think all Tiger needs is some time. |

8/22/2010 3:39:22 PM Players decline and Tiger is a player in decline. Does that mean he'll never win another major or even break Jack's record? No. But his days as a player the rest of the field wilts against are over. Too much talent, too many guys who just don't fear him. And that is GREAT news for golf. |

8/22/2010 3:32:21 PM Hard to say. When Yang beat him at the PGA, I think a light bulb went off in a lot of players' heads...like, "Oh yeah! I CAN beat him!" But the air of invincibility has been taken away...and that was a big, big factor in many of his wins. Most players who went up against him simply crumbled out of sheer intimidation, and Tiger himself fed off of his own confidence in his golf game, which gave him the ability to pull off so many wonderful golf shots through the years. Remember how he used to never miss a fairway or a green? That was a different Tiger back then...a young, confident (maybe cocky), invincible Tiger. None of this is to say that Tiger isn't capable of playing amazing golf again. But you can see he's lost the belief in his own ability, albeit temporarily (or maybe not???), and that really hurts his golf game. Tiger used to play with so much heart, and it's just not there anymore. And again, the fact that everyone knows he is beatable now is going to make it much, much tougher for him to win. We'll have to see. |

8/21/2010 11:22:35 PM He will. He will actually have more time to spend on his game because he will not "have" to go home. And if he has stopped Waffle House Hopping, that is something else that will not occupy his time ...... |
