Member Rules
Section 1.
The USGA Rules of Golf should govern all play. All rounds should be played to the best of your ability.
Section 2.
All scores should be posted in accordance with the USGA handicap system. Please try to post within 3 days of play. All 9 hole and 18 hole rounds should be posted. It is desired that all holes for your round be holed out. To be able to submit a round for inclusion in your handicap, at least 7 holes must be holed out for a 9 hole round, and at least 13 holes must be holed out for an 18 hole round. Holes not holed out must include an estimate of the number of strokes that would be taken from where the player ceased play of the hole. All penalty strokes incurred up to that point are to be included in the score for that hole.
Section 3.
All tournament scores need to be posted using the Hole-by-Hole method. This way you can enter your gross scores and the website will automatically control the ESC system. Make sure the tees, rating/slope, and date you played is all correct when posting scores. If the correct tees or score card is not available on the website please follow the directions on the website to have them added. Scores posted with the wrong information may be subject to deletion and the golfer that submitted it may be accused of score manipulation.
Section 4.
Once you are a member you must accept the Handicap Chairperson as a friend on the site. This is important so you can communicate easily. Each member is responsible for reading club issued email from the Handicap Chairperson to effect easy communication between members. The Handicap Chairperson will contact members for club reasons, like Meet & Play event dates, problems with member scoring records, and other information important for membership.
Section 5.
You must have at least a premium (silver) level membership on the website. Additionaly, your profile must have your correct First and Last name, Email and correct Zip Code.
Section 6.
The USGA requires you play at least 3 rounds with another member of the Tour Partner's club of Chicago. This includes the tournament round you are required to play in. Please make sure you check the yes box when you play with another Tour Partner's Club of Chicago member, and make sure that it is unchecked when you do not play with another member of the Tour Partner's Club of Chicago. The Tour Partner's Club of Chicago only holds one type of club-sponsored tournaments and these are the only tournaments that can be submitted as a member's club sponsored tournament round. These Meet and Play Events are held periodically during the local active season, which runs from April 1st to November 1st. The local golf association is the Chicago District Golf Association.
Section 7.
These bylaws are mandatory for all members to help ensure we keep the integrity of the USGA Handicap System. Failure to follow any of these bylaws could result in removal from the club, as a last resort. Other disciplinary action that could be taken includes increasing a member's handicap index, placing member on probation where they have to submit their actual score cards for validation by the Tour Partner's Club of Chicago, and suspension.
