7/7/2011 4:15:07 PM Thanks to Foozlenut for keeping my name in the club as I was out following shoulder surgery. I've been back swinging for a couple of months and have restarted my Ft Jackson GC membership. I play almost every Sunday, so if any Duffers want to play there, shoot me a message by Friday night. My day off during the week rotates (if I don't work) so other days are harder to plan. Cheers. |

6/28/2011 9:57:13 PM Midlands Passport Book tournament schedule (now thru end of year) 7/9 Hidden Valley 7/16 Star Fort 7/30 Crickentree 8/20 Woodlands 8/27 Oak Hills 9/10 Cobblestone The previous events in the series this year were at Timberlake, Mid Carolina, Golden Hills, Linrick and Charwood. They may add event at Rawls Creek and CC of Newberry possibly (shows TBA on schedule). It has been pretty fun, I played in a couple of them. Kinda relaxed competition. They do individual play Stableford format (based on handicap -- it's a mixed group). It has been $35 for passport holders or $45 if not. The discount book is a good deal anyway I think. Entry fee goes for the golf, range balls, sign-in gift (sleeve of balls), prizes and refreshments. For more info on the Passport book or to Contact Evans about entering one of the tournaments: (-link-cannot-be-displayed-) -- just spreading the word... |

2/21/2011 7:20:53 PM Hey guys, just an fyi, I played in a little company tournament today at Charwood in South Congaree. I would strongly discourage anyone from going there in the foreseeable future. That place is down right awful. The greens are 70 percent sand and 30 percent of some kind of grass.... Fairways - Terrible, Teeboxes- Terrible. Just a bad experience out there today. But, that place has never really impressed me. Just my two cents. Hope I dont ruffle any feathers. Also, Oak Hills - Jam up shape -) |
