Any events coming up soon?

Hello everyone I'm new to the group and looking to meet some golfers in the lexington area. I don't belong to a club yet but I've been playing a lot of the courses in the area.

Hi, my name is Hector and live in Winchester, KY. Just joined and I am looking forward to meet and play some golf. I am at a member at The Old Silo in Mt. Sterling.

The Club's first outing this past Sunday was a great success. We ended up having 11 players with 10 participating in the better-ball tournament. Team 2 consisting of Kevin "Master47" Davies and Jeremy "BluengoldTees" Haught won the front nine with net score of 33. Team 3 of Brian "Hoff" Hafendorfer and Kevin "ksmith910" Smith won the back nine with a net score of 34 (thanks for carrying me, Brian).

While not everyone was happy with their scores, the great company and superb weather made for a day that I think everyone enjoyed.

I'd like to see us get another outing in before the end of the season. I've targeted Saturday, October 10 as a possible date and an earlier (8:30 to 9:00) starting time. I'll post any updates here on The Fairway.

I'm going to try and contact the KGA and ask them about handicaps other than GHIN-calculated handicaps. I'll let you know when I hear something.

blue, will KGA honor Stracka for their events or do we need to establish a GHIN also?

any weekend in Aug is good. Dont think I could commit to anything on the first full weekend of football-Sept 5. As for fall 10/31 or 11/14 is my vote. WVU vs UL is 11/7 :)

USGA is cooperating fully. They have submitted the required paperwork to the KGA, and they are the ones holding it up. The KGA has until July 30th to make a decision one way or the other. If the USGA doesn't hear something from the KGA by that date, the USGA (as I understand it) will override the KGA and make us official. ukblue, any progress made with the USGA on club approval?

...Still waiting on KGA approval. I spoke with them on the phone, and there was a hangup b/w the USGA and the KGA. I'll post something again when I hear it.
