    Dennis,
I am new to the OKC area and I am from Fla. I moved here about 2 1/2 years ago. I have a couple of questions.
    1. What club are you talking about here?
    2. What is involved in chairing the club?
3, How much time is involved in doing this?
    Thanks for your time,
    Norman

    All,

To give everyone a heads up, the USGA is requesting an Audit, which is now past due. They have extended the audit deadline to 10/13/15 and have indicated they will close our club if the audit is not complete by then.

I don’t have the time to keep this up. If anyone is interested in taking the chair position, now would be a good time to speak up. I have contacted Silverhorn Golf course to see if they can take over management of the club but have nothing definitive yet.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

Chris2014 brings up a good question.

We should be having regular tournaments. We also should be having quarterly events where club members can play together. We should also have a club committee, and a Chairman that has more time to focus on the club. I stepped in because the former Chairman moved. We only had a few days to get someone in the chair position before we lost compliance.

I would love to see someone take over the chair position, and would love to see a committee formed for support. The club deserves it. With 166 members, we are actually one of the bigger clubs. Most are around 30.

    Any Interest?

Is this club going to have any events this summer?

Just thought I would give folks that play the OKC municipal courses a heads up. Until the end of February, The city is running two promotions.

The Tour of the City (TOC) package which includes 8 rounds (with ? cart) for the price of 10 and includes all the city courses.

The Frequent Player package which includes 10 rounds (with ? cart) for the price of 8 at one course.
You need to by this package from the course you play.

There is not a limit to how many packages you can purchase. Each package saves you about 85 bucks and must be used by December 31, 2014.

If anyone knows of any other promotions, post them here.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

    Thanks for the introduction Tom.

I don’t expect there is going to be much activity over the next month or two but the USGA would like the members to have an opportunity to play together. I can see about getting discounts for club events, but I‘ll need an idea of how many members would be interested and what days/times would work best.

In the interim, if you have any questions or suggestions the best way to reach me for now is through this forum.

    Thanks

    Dennis

Hey everyone - I don't live in Oklahoma anymore and forgot that I started this - I need to transfer Club Chair to someone local. Anyone got any ideas?

Question in regards to the USGA membership, are we members of the USGA or just members of this golf club, and the golf club has a USGA ID?
