After having a little chat with another site member this question came to mind. What have you done or has another player done or said while playing that just threw your game into a tailspin and ruined a good round?

All you need to do is Par in and you will record a career round.

Today I was 1 over thru 6 holes. On the way to the 7th tee box my partner said "you are having a great round Vince". I knew I was playing well but I was not thinking about the score, just the next shot. I proceeded to double the next 3 holes. While walknig down the fairway on 8 I told him " I realize you are a lot bigger than me but I feel it only fair to warn you that if you ever knock me out of the zone like that again I'll break both your legs"

He's the one in the middle.

we had a few laughs and continued our round. Every bad shot he hit earned him another comment about "Karma"

Complimenting on my good play does not effect me, heck it might even help.
That being said, I was once playing in a tournament where I was playing terrible and I mean terrible and the guy playing in my group kept complimenting my terrible shots. Then he would hit a shot on the green, and complain that it was awful.

In other words my crap shots were great for me, but his better shots were terrible for him.

The next day I creamed him and IT FELT SOOOO GOOD.

My favorite though...I was playing with my old friend who is probably a 20 handicapper. We are about to tee off on the 10th hole. I am sitting at one under and he was something like 11 over.

I get on the tee box and he says, "Can I give you a little advice on how to play the game?"
I gave him a look that was like...are you serious?

He continues, "I think you should start dialing down your driver swing, maybe swing it only half way back. You would hit every fairway."

We both hit our tee shots, he hits a drive of maybe 190 yards down the middle and I hit a hard draw into the rough 280-290 yards out.

He gets to his ball and yells, "see what I mean." The ball is supposed to be in the fairway."

I had enough, I yelled back. "I will give you a hundred bucks if your ball ends up closer to the flag than mine."

He hits well short, and I hit a wedge to 15 feet.

I can't really remember any time when someone said something to me and it just completely threw me off. If someone was to yell at me, accuse me of something I didn't do, or offer me sex, that might do it.

A high handicapper that insisted on giving me advice to the point of annoyance and it actually threw me off my game. I was fighting the lefts and I can't remember what it was but it was the dumbest advice a guy could give. When I hit another hook he said something like "see? If you just *insert stupid comment here*, you'd be hitting it straight". Pissed me of like I couldn't believe.

You should have tried a half swing with the driver according to my high handicapper friend.

I had a difficult time paying attention this particular day. I would love to share some of the other photos from this tourney, but i may be banned from this site forever.

best way to get back at someone is to ask them if they breathe in or out before they putt and i guarantee you they wont make another putt in that round.
