As much as we all love the game, there are parts of it that drive me nuts. Tell us if something really tics you off about playing the game. I'll start with this. I hit my shot and watch the flight of the ball from club to landing, I know exactly where the ball lands. I might mark it by a tree or a bush maybe the 150 yd marker whatever the case may be. I now arrive at the spot and no ball to be found, Maybe it hit sprinkler head or a rock, maybe it's somewhere in the deep rough but it can't be found, even thou it's in a wide open area. Now I am adding a stroke for a lost ball, Thats just great. This doesn't happen to Pro's because there are hundreds of people showing them where their ball is. They don't even have to look for it. Make them look for there own balls like I have to. If I could play with a gallery to find my ball I would be a couple of shots better.

I don't have one, but I can make yours worse... In addition to that stroke, you really need to go back where you hit it from. (Stroke and distance.) Now, that will T-off the people behind you, thus putting it on their list!

That said, playing a public course, going back is not always an option.

OK, after all that, I do have one. Just what you said. It happens too often...

I hate when I am playing with someone and they think it's ok to not putt out from a MISSABLE distance without even asking if the shot is good! Especially when the round ends in a tie or I lose by a stroke! This reeeaaaallly grinds my gears.

Ya, going back to tee when the next group is hitting isn't going to make anybody too happy.

I like yours, but I'll just add on to it that it sucks when you have every reason to find the ball, but you can't. I remember a few years ago at a course around here I don't like at all, I hit a drive right down the heart of the fairway... and I could never find the ball. No one was directly in front of me, and the hole was in a position where no one could get to the fairway without me seeing. Stupid. It's frustrating, raises your score, and it's a waste of money.

I run into that a lot at my home course. A few fairways are always soft and a high drive can plug easily. I like to refer to them as the "Andy Dufresne" You know where they should be but you can't find them. It's a conspiracy I tell you! Ball went and disappeared like a fart in the wind!

I hate....when you land in a greenside trap that was where you were hoping it would go if you missed it a little, only to get up and the ball is sitting in a nice big shoe print or other man made condition. PLayers that don't rake traps should be drawn and quartered.

Guys who don't know what ball they are playing and/or don't mark their ball. Of course, those are the guys that need help searching for their errant shots and every time you ask what they are hitting they don't know. So how the hell do intend to find YOUR ball?

Mark your ball and it wont matter what ball it is.

Or the older folks that know what ball, but just can't see past 50 yards. I hate spending all day looking for everyone's shots ....

A guy in my twice weekly group loses his ball on every single shot. I told him to go take some lessons and learn to hit it straight down the middle cuz I was tired of having to search for his ball every shot. Its a distraction for me and I can never get into the zone and think out my game. His answer was that he has bad eye sight. We have free vision care for corrective lenses on our retirement health care plan, yet he refuses to use it, instead putting the burden on us to find his ball all day long. So I refused to play as long as he was going to play. The other two guys followed suit. Its been over 2 weeks since I've played but I don't care. Now I am honing my game through lots of practice and will benefit from it. The guy is 62 years old and its like taking a 3 year old to the mall. Always have to watch him. It wears you out mentally.
