In case GolfCard GPS is no longer functioning, what GPS apps are the best? I don't mind ... even if it is a paid app. It should have a scorecard as well.

For what platform?

I liked nRange but I believe it is for iOS devices only. Uses actual satellite imagery and gives front, middle, back distances. Can move the target to get distances to any point. Has stat tracking and scorecard for a foursome. Synced to a website but I rarely used it so can't say if it is any good or not. I used it mainly for distances. Don't use it much any longer unless I'm playing an unfamiliar course with lots of blind shots.

I have Nrange on my Android. I also used it alot when I first got it. Not so much anymore. It really is pretty darn accurate though.

Not only is it cheap, but it has a scorecard, and not only measures the length of your drive, but also puts the measurement into your scorecard. I don't think any other gps does that. Oh, and it's easy on your battery.

I have GolfShotGPS (GolfShot on android). It's not a free or cheap app, but it does work very well.

I've found it to be unobtrusive on the course. Scoring is quick and can keep up with my entire group. It allows me to easily track the good shots I make with clubs so I can see my club averages both on the course and in an interactive web page. Quick distances to objects are found easily and you can 'move' the to the pin location to get a more accurate distance if the pin is in an odd place.

My only complaint is that they have been slow to fix a bug I reported back in November - one that causes the app to crash when looking up your club averages. I know now they appear to be re-branding their 'PGA Tour Caddie' product back into the GolfShot brand so I suspect they've been working hard on that and I'll see a bug fix soon.

Here is a fairly comprehensive review on the app.

I just acquired a Leupold range finder and so I only use the app for scoring, club tracking, and distance to objects I can't lock on to (water/ditch).

I had Swing by Swing for a while. The only reason I ended up uninstalling it is because it sucked the battery right out of my phone before I could finish the round. But it was really accurate, easy to use, and I loved being able to pick any spot and get a yardage to that point and others within that vicinity.
