Finally got a hold of my driver and sent him 300 was less then 70 yds to the green on a 367 yd par 4 felt really good to see that ball fly down the fairway. Started golfing April 1, 2013 and starting to see some things finally break through for me.

Welcome to the most addictive sport in the world! All it takes is one shot like that and you are on the hook.

I started playing golf just under 10 years ago so I remember that moment very well. The funny thing is I nearly quit the game forever the round prior. I was playing a course with a bit of water. I had 12-15 balls in my bag and by the 14th hole I had none..and my brother and dad wouldn't give me any of theirs. I nearly quit the game forever. Somehow my brother asked me to play a couple of days later and on the first tee I ripped a drive right down the middle. The rest is history...after two years I was under a 18 handicap...after 4 years I was around a 12 handicap...after 5 years I was a 9 handicap...and over the next 3-4 years I have whittled it down to around a 2 handicap. If I played more often I would be scratch or better, but with my job I doubt that is going to happen.

The point is...you can be as good as you want to be at golf but the most important thing is to have fun playing the game.

Welcome to the most frustrating...baffling...and greatest game in the world!

Ah memories. My brother and I took a [bad] beginners group lesson package when I was 14. Between the two of us we lost 12 balls on the first hole our first time playing nine.

That is the thing that hooks you about this game. Hitting a shot like that makes you want to come back..

If you want more of those drives you need to "charge" your driver.
1) Remove the shaft and clean out all the epoxy.
2) Remove the plug at the bottom of the hosel,
3) Use a can of compressed air (the kind that comes out cold) and blow into the hosel.
4) Quickly insert the new plug, epoxy, and shaft (spline aligned properly).
5) Allow the epoxy to set completely before use.

How does it help?

Once it warms up the cold compressed air will expand making the pressure inside the head greater than outside. The club face will now have more "pop" than before and increase your driving distance equal to the distance from your house to the nearest Golfsmith.

I agree, enjoy the days you can do nothing wrong and laugh on the days you can do nothing right. If you have days like me I have the possibility of playing 2 games Golf or Goof and I never know which one I am playing on any given day.
