I don't know how else to refer to them, but if you've ever looked at a nice iron from the 60s, 70s or 80s (some from the 90s too), you would have seen grooves with little ornamentations out on the end...dots, diamonds, stars, etc.

My question is, why did club manufacturers move away from this? You never see it anymore. I think it's a really slick look.

Aesthetics gave way to streamlining in my opinion.

Everything comes down to $ and I bet those type of customization is a cost that adds no real benefit.

I must admit, when I saw this post topic, I didn't expect this I thought Tim was going to be talking about some of those crazy score patterns we're seeing on wedges these days.
